What do ground sessions involve? 

Our ground sessions vary in activities from, grooming, learning to tack up, muck out, work with the small animals – we can even learn to lead the horses through courses and have little competitions.  We can work towards horse care awards as well.

Saturday Fun

Every other Saturday we hold our Hands-Hooves club.  The activities vary but the general structure is a 15minute individual riding session and 45minutes of fun – this could be in the classroom, doing grooming, going to the sensory room or even a long ride round our sensory trail.

Ridden activities

Our ridden sessions are generally 30min sessions. Prices include a leader and 2 sidewalkers if needed alongside hats and other equipment as required. Sessions can range from fun therapeutic sessions working on motor skills, muscular strength and so much to more to more advanced sessions with participants learning to trot, canter and jump. There are chances to compete in both fun in house shows and within RDA activities.

Awards

Through RDA National we can offer a range of awards through ASDAN and RDA proficiency awards. We also offer our own in house awards as well, ensuring everyone is included whatever their ability.

Prices

  • Private 30mins – £38.50

  • Saturday Club (hands to hooves) – £22.50

  • 1hr sessions (often mix of riding and ground session) – £65

We take care to ensure you are matched with the best possible horse, this means once you accept a position with us – that is your horse for that session, we cannot simply fill that slot with another rider on any given day like riding schools. We also endure we have the relevant staff members required for individuals as well and any relevant equipment required. With this in mind our sessions a block booked either monthly or termly. Payment is required before sessions can commence.
